Ontario has the mildest climate of the Canadian part east of the Rocky Mountains. However, compared to the temperate climate of the Netherlands, Ontario has some more extreme temperature differences. In Winter it can freeze at night up to fifteen degrees, with a maximum temperature of 1 or 2 degrees below zero.

The summers are mostly warm and moist, with maxima around 25 degrees in July and August. Summer is also the wettest season, with August and September as peak months. Spring and autumn are relatively mild, with alternating wet and dry periods. In September it is still 20 degrees, in October only 14. The spring starts to become really pleasant in May, it will be about 19 degrees during the day.
